Okay this is probably really weird but the desk light bulb in my room adjectives out and I cannot unscrew it! It's making a crunching sound resembling it's either gonna break or the cup is gonna come out and the metal threaded part is gonna stay surrounded by the socket. I don't know why it's so tight or whatever...possibly because it's old? We don't even use those kind of bulbs anymore...we use the spiral flourescent ones now so it's similar to 3ish years old or more! Any thinking how to get it unscrewed?
Answers: BEFORE YOU START:
find a step stool if you need one
a two of a kind of pliers
rubber gloves
flashlight
Turn off the circut breaker that powers that oil lamp. Use rubber gloves (like the ones you use for dishes and cleaning) and turn it slow...if it breaks, use a pair of pliers to obtain the rest of it out.
If you are really scared, ask someone to assistance you. Nothing will get you hurt faster than trying to deal with a job you are cold to handle. Even something as simple as this. There is no shame contained by asking for help!
lefty loosee, righty tighty (translation: turn it too the departed and it will loosen....usually, but turn it to the right your just tightening it)
