I turned thermostat from 65 to 70, woke up at night beside 80 deg.
disconnected two wires at honeywell round thermostat non- digital, still on. Disconnected the red at aquastat switch, furnace shut-off. reconnected/back on. I then reinstalled the thermostat, hastily switched it back and forth numerous times till I hear the click and it shut off. I also own an amtrol water inventor which I turned off to try and isolate which one is the problem. I plan on disappearing the hot water architect off, agree to the house cool to 60 and turn the thermostat to 66 to see if it will shut off after reaching 66. Here are the question: Does anyone know what this could be? Does this have relay switches and could they return with stuck on? Does anyone have any experience beside this amtrol water author? Thinking of changing to the regular hose down heater?
Answers: Sounds close to a bad roast sequencer switch and the only fix is to replace the bit as it will stay like this until you do. In the meantime snuff all power to the element.
