I am able to table lamp the pilot on the water boiler, but every time I turn the knob to the "on" position the pilot goes out. What am I doing wrong?
Pilot lights own a thermocouple. Yours has gone fruitless.

Are you leaving it contained by the "Light" position long enough to bake up the thermocouple? Some of them can take a minute to thaw out up enough to hold the spout open.

Also, if the flame doesn't hit the thermocouple (small cylindrical thing) capably enough to achieve it good and hot, that might be part of the pack of the problem as well. Sometimes the pilot orifice get clogged, or the pilot is misaligned, or if there's a deflector it might be bent or mis-positioned so the flame doesn't bathe the thermocouple.
Answers:    You enjoy to replace the thermocouple that goes to pilot.
Thats the copper tube that go from control valve to the pilot flame expire. Can be bought at Home Depot (Honeywell or Robertshaw 24" Thermocouple)
