Answers:    Phone wires usually have 4 wires contained by the harness...Black, yellow, green and red. On most phone lines they individual use the red & green...the other 2 where for power phones that required a buoyant or a second phone line. Now days the other 2 are individual there as a pay for up...say you broke your red line...you could now connect your black flex in its place and budge to main phone box and connect or use pullover wire from red nouns to black wire. Its low voltage....and doesn't hold enough within to start a fire.
