When i brought my house we were given the picking of joining the HOA we decided against it. I received a Lawn Maintenance Notice surrounded by my mailbox, requesting i trim and edge my meadow or face a fine. I emailed the HOA and they stated
"Unfortunately, whether you are a voluntary or mandatory property owner(ie branch of the HOA or not) you ARE in certainty obligated to abide by the covenants and bylaws set forth to this community by the founders."
Is this correct?

When you decided to purchase a home located inside a subdivision that is govern by a homeowner's association, you also agree to abide by the covenants and restrictions set forth by that HOA. Your realtor should have provided you beside a copy of the CCR's before you signed the paperwork basically as a precautionary measure to net sure you knew what you be getting into. The decision to mix or not join the HOA wouldn't really do anything to deter you from getting violation either. If you are contained by violation of any of the CCR's, you are held responsible as the property owner regardless of your HOA status.
Our HOA can violate property owner's for such minor infractions such as have burned out light bulbs contained by their coach lights or post lamps, departure your trash containers out on trash day chronological 6pm, not mowing your lawn, have the wrong lettering on your mailbox ...the list go on & on! The only mode around these violations is to know what you are responsible for and to abide by them as best you can. Otherwise, put your house on the souk and move to the country!!
HOA is just a group of ethnic group in the tract nouns that u live on that have meeting and rules set to better the neighborhood. They can and will enforce any rules that complies to their charter. Another words...they can dictacts ur exterior appearance. Just like if my neigbor is not cleaning or trimming in attendance lawn and is mortal a nusiance I can filled a complain to the city and the city will any cite them or make them to comply . They get to paint certain color and any modification to the exterior of the house.
