Answers:    your not gonna want it any thinner than 3.5 within.......which is about the span of a 2x4....you could probably get by near a little thinner if its in recent times for motorcycles or something but if your parking pickups and suv's there you want it to be at most minuscule 4 and even then your gonna want some concrete chain or re-bar in within....good luck
