We had our roof seep one night when we have days of rain coming contained by. It resulted int he roof leaking and dripping into our kitchen from two places, and disappearing ugly stains within another around our light fixture. We are not sure how to repair or what ti will cost. Any support would be appreciated.
Just so you know, we already patched up the roof, so the leak is not a problem anymore.
Answers: You already did the hardest entry, repair the roof leak. The misshapen stains can be spot painting near KILZ to remove the water stains. Than buy a spray can of texture and spray it lighly over the stain and rest is history. As for river around your light fixture it will evaporate otherwise it is vastly obvious when hose is bothering your electrical system, it trips the circuit breaker. Good Luck!
If it just stained, and didn't warp the drywall, you can paint near Kilz then near paint over that, the Kilz will stop the stain from coming though the paint. Or you can just buy Kilz brand paint, it is Kilz combined beside paint. If you just paint over it near plain paint, the stain will come through the paint.
