Recently purchased house with crude gas heat. Previous owners said to regulate warmth by turning screw in heat unit contained by basement. Purchased hot thermostat for hallway upstairs and have electrician install. Although it reads the heat it doesn't change the steam temperature when pushing up or down warmth buttons.

Depending on the temperature outside my house is any really hot or really cold. I have to constantly turn the screw within the heat section in underground room to regulate the heat. Why am I not competent to just push the up and down buttons on my thermostat contained by hallway to translate heat any hotter or colder.

My house is either 78 or 65 adjectives the time. I am wasting money by not being competent to keep a steady warmth. My thermostat has a 24 hour bake timer on it and it won't work. I need serve please. Should I call a heat repair person or is it something I can do myself?

Answers:    It could be the thremo isnt wired correctly or you could hold
a relay control transformer problem too.
It would be easier to to a heating guy to fix it afterwards having to
shift through all the steps to fix it.

Is the thermostat on "heat" ? I guess if the homeowner is unfolding you to go down to the stove, your thermostat is not properly wired to the heater. Your electrician probably put contained by a new thermostat, but the wires to the stove might be fully connected. I think you obligation another electrician, not a heating repairman.
