There are several ways to receive oil off and one is WD 40. WD 40 is least possible offensive.
I've used everything, mineral spirits, soap and none of them work fantastically great, because oil soaks contained by. Keep trying I believe Thompsons (part of Ronseal) make an oil and drive cleaner, especially for these helpful of problems.
