How to metamorphosis a 30amp service to a 50 amp service? we have a middle air conditioner and the breaker keep blowing...
we have a middle air conditioner and the breaker keep blowing i think the service isnt big adequate any other thoughts as to what it could be?
Is the AC a recent auxiliary? If no, was it popping the breaker until that time? If no, you need the abet of an electrician to make sure you don't enjoy a malfunctioning AC or weak breaker.
I am guessing the 30 amp service you mention is a sub panel. If it is the leading service for the house you definitely have need of to upgrade. To change to a bigger service you will own to change incoming flex size, main and branch breakers and probably the box. And as expected, hire an electrician.
Someone had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago here and from what I intellectual from it is:
(1 if the blown circuit breaker is on the the A/C itself, it could be a faulty A/C circuit on the element.
(2 it was recommended that this circuit be bypassed and the size 10/3 romex flex be run from it's own circuit and 30 amp breaker on the main nouns center.
(3 this is if the original breaker is supposed to be a 30 amp.
(4 if the circuit originally be 30 amp then I don't recommend raise the breaker (and the wire size to 6/3 romex) ?
Have an electrician troubleshoot it if it is a 30 amp.
