How to create holes on the bottom of a terracotta pot in need breaking it? thank you!

thank you!
To be sure I don't break the ceramic piece when the drill bit pops through, I drill the hole using a cone shaped grinding attachment that go into my drill. Any hardware has them Carbide drill bit with profusely of patience.

bring some ceramic dissolver. it is sold a wal-mart and value homestores. apply one drop of it beside a q-tip on the area you want a hole in. afterwards wait for about ten minutes while it dries and wipe sour the excess.
hope i helped!! using a drill with a masonry bit will do the trick. Use glorious speeds but dont put much pressure on the drill, let it do the work and you will be fine
Answers:    Masking tape accross the bottom. Then drill thru the tape, ever so lighly apply pressure. Have a few drops of hose in the drill pool as well(instead of oil) This keeps the tip cool. And you ain't done until the metal bit is taken away.
