I live in L.A. and it's damn hot out here!! Yesterday it was 104, today it be 111 and tomorrow it is supposed to be even hotter! After reading these temperatures, you could imagine that it hot as hell out here, and I basically want some way to keep cool. My AC doesnĄ¯t work completely well because we have really crappy, one-pane window that let all the hot nouns in and the cool air out. Any tips on how to save me, my family, my cat, and my dog cool. I already have adjectives the ceiling fans running on high, I hold one rotating fan out in my living room and I own the AC on. I have no other ideas of what to do. The heat just keeps going up contained by my house.

Answers: I heard installing solar panels on your roof can minister to with the heat. Insulate your doors and window, like along the edges so that hot air doesnt come out of in through your house. During the day, preserve blinds closed, and minimize utlizing electricity in the house. Have the A/C fixed or replaced promptly, if you can have it done. Insulating would be the cheapest fix for the moment. Another substitute is investing in more fans. Single pane windows really don't hurt that much. Go to some place like Lowe's or Home Depot, or even Wal-mart and buy a couple of 5000-btu pane a/c's. They run on 120 v. You can get them for about $70 respectively. No installation needed- just stick them in the skylight and plug them in. When the heat swell is over- just stack them up in a closet or garage until you necessitate them again. Thats the cheapest way to stay cool. You could dampen Sheetes and hang down them about a foot in front of a admirer, that'll get some cool are going.
Ummm. keep excess doors closed. [bathroom doors, closet doors, bedrooms]etc.
and any hang up heavuy blankets in front of the window or get a dark picture to put on them.. kind of like tinting..them.
