How to ground or bond a pool ? i suggest i get it, not sure though? i have researched this and for my above ground pool which...

i have researched this and for my above ground pool which is perement, i must use #8 copper chain to all metallic things on and around my pool, wouldnt at hand be wire running adjectives over the place (visiable) im thinking you have to connect it to adjectives ralling and etc. or can you connect it to 1 rail of the pool and that be fine since adjectives rails connect by joining near other rails.
Once this is inherent, i just connect the telecommunication to the pumps grounding wire, and thats it ? or do you later have to verbs tie another wire connecting to a ground rod ? do you hold to use a ground rod ?
You do not connect the bonding wire to any portion of the electrical ground for the pool. You can bond to just one metal quantity of the pool if all of the metallic parts are tied mechanically to respectively other by screws or enormously tight friction connections. To bond the #8 SOLID copper bonding jumper to the pool, you must use a tabled grounding/bonding lug made of solid copper, brass, or stainless steel.

The main entry is to remember you are just bonding (connecting) any metallic parts of the pool (pump motor and heating system case) and surrounding structures (fencing, aluminum siding, metal pool decking) within 5¡¯ of the inside wall of the pool to any metallic electrical components (motor, roundabout boxes, metallic raceways, etc.). The bonding wire can be concealed, but should be checked for excessive corrosion since each pool season.

You do not requirement to (nor should you be required to) connect any part of this ¡°bonding grid¡± to any bit of the equipment grounding system for the pool; this includes NOT bonding to a ground rod.

If the pool has a sub-panel located away from the chief dwelling unit (your house), and that panel have more than one circuit, then that panel requires a ground rod to be exact bonded to the metal cabinet containing the sub-panel. You must also remove the Main Bonding Jumper from the sub-panel (if it came installed) contained by order to isolate the indeterminate bus in the sub-panel and avoid a parallel ground route; if you don¡¯t, any fault current will verbs to ¡°run around¡± this path, and not embark on the overcurrent protection.

Properly bonding a pool installation is the most important segment of the job. Understanding the difference between bonding & grounding is the one single item that I have the most difficult time tuition to electricians and inspectors.

If you are really interested in purchase some valuable insights into this subject, I recommend ¡°Soares Book on Bonding & Grounding¡± published by the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.

NO GROUND ROD, you don't connect it to the ground wire on the motor but if the motor have any metal parts you would put a lug on it and attach to that. FORGET GROUNDING. Bonding is the joining of conductive metal parts to eliminate difference within voltage potential between the different metal parts. Remember your not grounding your bonding. If your stiil confused google equipotential bonding. some day within gonna start calling that green wire a bonding line instead of a ground.

Answers:    you need a loyal ground rod.if your equipment is close to the house, you could use the ground rod for your breaker box if not you will want to install a new one not sure how you connect above ground pool on inground pool its connected to pool rebar rather
