The roof doesn't leak after sturdy or constant rain. I read that this may be cause by ice dam. I have some come to a point stains on the 2nd floor ceiling about 8-10 ft long. The ridge vent is at the crag of the roof and runs the entire length of the house (50 ft). The leaks appear to occur when the snow melt. Is this ice dam?, or some other problem? How do I go roughly fixing this problem? Does the ridge vent need replaced? or of late repaired?
Answers:    Ice damming is a adjectives problem on roofing systems worldwide. The ridge vent can tend to be a natural place for the filter to occur because the nouns under the vent is general open to allow the heavens to escape the area anyone vented. I would telephone call a couple local roofing professionals to come and take a look at whats going on. Have them provide an estimate for the work completed and the explanation as to why it is leak. (in case it't not the vent) Often times the stains contained by a ceiling are not the best indicator as to the location of the leak because dampen follows the path of most minuscule resistance and can go a long route before making it to a point where on earth it can leak into the home or garage. (you can enjoy a cracked shingle allowing water through 5 foot above where the hose is coming through the roof into the home) If it is a problem that the roofing contractors find that you can fix, than thats great you will save money by doing it yourself.
By have multiple roofing professionals come and look at the job, you should be given a righteous idea of what you are up against.
Good Luck
You would be better replacing beside new and bed very well in Silicon sealer or the similar to. Don't go on the roof yourself if you don't know what you are doing.
