I have an overhead light/fan surrounded by my living room that is turned on/off using two pull-cords (one for the hanger-on, one for the light). The one for the fan works in recent times fine, but the one for the light frequently "jams" so that I cannot return with the light to turn on or bad. Sometimes, if I pull it several times (anywhere from a dozen to several hundred times) it eventually comes free and works. It might work for a few days or a couple of weeks and after it james again. Is there any uncomplicated way to fix this?
Answers: Yes at hand is! The pull switch should be contained by the middle of the light if you own 2 or globes or it is off to the side if you own one light sphere. With the power turned off, filch the light fixture sour and you should have access to the verbs switch. Remove the switch and go to your local hardware store or home increase store and match the one you own to a new one. To install, only reverse the way you took it out. It is moderately simple if you take your time! Good Luck!
You can try to spray some WD40 into the switch to lubricate it, but most predictable it will have to be replaced. You can find these switches at Home Depot.
