Answers: Check beside the local dump in your nouns. I know here where I live they own a special area for appliances similar to microwaves even refrigerators in the dump courtyard where you can dispose of these items.
I get a screw driver and took my old one apart. Then folded up the metal crust and placed it all within the garbage. At that time I lived contained by the city and it would not fit in the little scrap tote until I took it apart.
If you want you can take the metal parts to the sliver yard and trash the plastic.
