How to carry on weak wood.? My house roof is about 25 years ancient and the timber used...

My house roof is about 25 years ancient and the timber used in the roof looks to be conventional for it age. Is there any article I can do to maintain the wood against dry rot/rot/and wood worm.

Answers:    If you have proper vent (soffits, ridge vents, etc) you will enjoy the air flow crucial for a healthy attic. That stops the dry rot. Keep your roof within a proper repair (no leaks) and you wont have to verbs about rot. Hopefully, this be done professionally with proper inspections, which scheme correct woods were used. Unless you are attacked by boring beetle, I wouldnt worry too much in the order of infestations, but none the less, a sporadic inspection ( annual) of the insides of the attic will show any signs.
