How rock-hard is to conversion a heat thing on a maytag dryer? I believe it is bad

I believe it is bad
a heat element is the easiest item in the world to modify, once you get inside it will usually enjoy 3 screws that hold it surrounded by place and a wiring harness of conceivably 3 wires that you take rotten the old and install on the strange.

i purchased a "better homes and garden repair book" and it has the how to's on various things to repair around the home, it was worth the $30 i spent on it
Its not hard, most dryers you any remove the back to capture to there, or an access panel within front (if the back is welded). There is merely one or two screws to thieve out and it should slide out (after disconnecting the wires). Look over it and see if there is any brakes surrounded by it, a volt meter with a ohm scramble will tell you if its devout or not too, with a volt meter you can also check and see if it have voltage when the dryer is running. If its good, here are two small temp sensors that most likely requests replaced, one should be pretty close to the coil, the other will be future on up the atmosphere duct the coil is attached too. These often stir out before the coil, and within either satchel should be replaced if you are replacing the coil. The tech you buy the coil from will know what you need.

If you use a volt meter, enjoy it on 220 or higher level, just touch the two rope to the coil, be careful not to touch them beside your hands.
Answers:    No model number so I'll guess its a true Maytag and not a Norge built. Unplug the apparatus. There should be 2 screws down implicit the bottom on the front of the dryer. Remove these screws and tilt the bottom out until the upper clips disengage. Carefully place the front panel to the side. There is a cover plate contained by front of the element that you must remove, consequently there are two screw holding down the front of the element tube and one at the support. Remove the wires from the high inhibit thermodisc (mounted on the tube) paying attention to where on earth the wires go. Pull out the furnace tube and unscrew the four screws that hold the tube together. Open the tube and here you will have full prospect of the element. You can any buy a replacement coil and restring it (pay attention to how it is strung) or buy a complete heater assembly. Hope that help.
