I am wanting to replace my 3 ton central heat and nouns gas furnace system with a total electric heatpump system. The duct work is in polite working order. What would be an average cost to replace these 2 peices, with installation? Also, what brands do you recommend. I own been hearing and reem, amana, goodman, delivery service, train, ext.
I want the unit to have the newer puron, and be at most minuscule 13 seer, preferebly higher. The house is 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, approx 2000 square feet.
Also, I am surrounded by North West, Ga if that makes a difference.
Answers: you can figure at just about 2500 and up. i live in east tn. our weather is similar.
If it gets cold where on earth you are I would consider adding the heat pump lacking getting rid of the gas furnace. Heat pumps don't work much under 45 degrees and later they kick on the electric "strip heat" that is more expensive than the gas.
So a roast pump with a gas backup is a wonderful choice because the power of the gas furnace is needed in freezing warmth. And it would save the cost of replacing the furnace, which for a heat pump they repeatedly call it an "air handler", after the furnace would be providing the blower.
But some people have a trepidation of gas.
Good Luck.
