We recently bought our home which be built in 1922. It have a wood frame which is starting to sag. We plan on doing renovations surrounded by the future but don't know when we should own the house jacked up. Soon or with renovations?
Answers: You should plainly investigate why the frame is sagging. It could be rot contained by the sill plates or insect damage. On the other foot, if the footing or slab is sinking or broken then you may not want to invest contained by extensive or very expensive wall or floor jacking. I would obtain a structural appraisal and find out what is causing the hang down. If it is sound and have no water or insect wounded you can hide the flaccid walls, etc with a drywall remodel. Best of luck.
You call for an honest contractor that is aware with restoration. If you take some jerk that doesn't know what he's looking at it can downfall up costing you tons!
Good luck!
