I live surrounded by a basement apartment and my manager doesn't live upstairs, but he rents it to someone else. Our power keeps going out and the power box entity is in my bedroom. I hold the shittist locks on my door and every time the power goes out and i'm not here the citizens upstairs break in my apartment to turn on the power. This is pissing me past its sell-by date because i feel approaching I have no privacy and I want to revise the locks. How much would it cost.
I'm gonna call the locksmith tomorrow to find out I of late needed to vent.

Answers: First of all, you cannot do anything short your landlords permission. Express to your innkeeper what is happening, emergency a solution. My lock company will come do a survey for free, just to consent to you know what needs to be done and how much it will cost, almost adjectives companies provide this service. Take that information to your landlord, request reinbursement to do this because, and these are switch words for litigation purposes, " you fear for your sanctuary, life, body, and stuff things". Do this all contained by writing.
Call the police, report the breaking and entering, because:
1.) you won't be liable for damages to the property
2.) the police would now enjoy record of the crime
3.) you can intervene that report to your landlord next to the above information.
Have you locksmith:
1.) reinforce the strikes
2.) install a keyless deadbolt (or jimmy proof lock)
3,) change the lock type to a Schlage F series knob and a B series deadbolt.
4.) Ask him to use Everest key, so that the locks can't be bumped.
5.) Install a latch guard (if the door swings out)
6.) install a 175 degree beep-beep hole.
This will cost around $200, but will be worth it. If you ask properly, the landlord will hold no choice but to pay for it, to avoid getting sued. This is not something I would trust to a handiman or do it yourself'er... your natural life and body is priceless, and your landlord agrees surrounded by your lease to do all he can to comfort you protect it.
You can do it yourself at walmart for about 15-20.00 for a accurate lock
