I have an 80 year dated house with a concrete block foundation. I hold lived in the house for 7 years and the foundation continues to re-open mature stair-step and horizontal cracks. About 2 years ago a plumber discovered my sewer pipe underneath the house was not discharging out to the street. It be blocked underneath the house. A structural engineer suggested this could enjoy been the exact of my foundation movements. It has be 2 years, should I still see hairline cracks ? I am hesitant to put any more money surrounded by my house, but what can I do if anything to make sure the foundation holds up for another 15-20 years until I retire.
