The heating man purely came and I be wondering how long does it take for home heat oil to start burning?! He come like an hour ago, and my house is still cold! We get 100 gallons but no heat is comming up!
Answers:    You should hold heat contained by about 10 minutes if the furnace is running. It sounds close to you let the storage container run too low and the pump on the burner gun has to be primed. On the pump side of the gun burner you will find a small plug near a hole in it. This is the passageway you prime a pump. Turn it counter clock ways to open it in the order of 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Now hit the reset on the furnace and the gun should turn on. Hold a small can under the plug and take into custody any oil pumped out. Once it start to spew grease turn the little nozzle clock ways and close it. You might have to hit the reset again. The furnace should start up immediately that the air is out of the strip. I think the wrench size is 7/16 ".
Is the furnace running? Keep contained by mind that if you allowed your tank to run dry, you wil probably requirement to prime the oil burner beforehand the fuel will begin to flow to the furnace. My distribution company has done that for me on the one instance that the tank run dry, so I can't give you details on how it is done. Perhaps you can ask for their help out.
