The heater within my house will warm the house, but when you put your appendage in front of the vent it feel kind of similar to cool air is coming out. Is within a way to turn the gas up or something to cause the air space heater as it blows like you can on your hot river heater? As in good health, Not all rooms contained by the house are as warm as the others. How do I fix this?
Answers: WARM AIR FURNACE FAN WILL CONTINUE TO RUN FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE GAS BURNER HAS SHUT OFF TO COOL DOWN THE HEAT EXCHANGE. YOU MAY HAVE FELT THE COOLER AIR DURING THIS CYCLE.
THE AIR DISTRIBUTION TO EACH REGISTER SHOULD HAVE A MANUAL DAMPER WHERE THE DUCT BRANCH CONNECTS TO THE MAIN SUPPLY DUCT. YOU CAN CHECK TO SEE THEIR POSITIONS AND ADJUST (OPEN/CLOSE) THEM TO EVEN OUT THE AIR GOING TO EACH SPACE.
YOU SHOULD ALSO CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE HEAT ANTICIPATOR IN YOUR THERMOSTAT IS SET CORRECTLY (SEE FURNACE OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS). IF SET INCORRECTLY YOUR FURNACE WILL OPERATE ERRATICALLY NOT CYCLING ON THE THERMOSTAT TEMPERATURE SETTING. THIS COULD RESULT IN UNEVEN ROOM TEMPERATURES AND HIGHER HEATING BILLS. YOUR HEATING SYSTEM SHOULD BE INSPECTED ANNUALLY BY A PROFESSIONAL TO VERIFY CORRECT OPERATION.
CHANGE THE FILTERS EVERY 6 MONTHS!!!
No at hand is no way to turn the gas up or anything close to that. You may have uninsulated ducts surrounded by unconditioned spaces. It also sounds like the duct system is not properly hanging or designed. For more info, check out the ducts page at my source.
