Answers:    that will work, but in that designed to be used as is, remove the dust filter when using to pick up water, replace dust filter when picking up dust, to clear just remove the top and dump the can out,

Not roughly, but you may want to check the instructions. I believe in some you are supposed to remove the filter for vacuuming up liquid, but again check the instructions.
