How do you tie into an existing roof? I want to build a roof over a deck on the back...
I want to build a roof over a deck on the back of my house and tie it into the principal roof.
not easy but not easier said than done ,
the easy means of access , is to cut your lumber and nail the lumber to the outmoded roof, then apply sheet ply , and asphalt paper , afterwards steel galv, flashing to it the shingle
if you have never done this until that time
hire a roofer, as if you dont or cant get it right
it will escape
u enjoy to match up the pitch of the unusual roof to the old roof.....if u carring out a "A" roof.......if u want to hip into a mature roof much eaiser.....either path u need lots of planning and knowhow.....why not hire a crew to a short time ago frame in the unknown roof and u finish it!

Answers: that is extremely idfficult to do considering thast you start from bottom to top but if your thorough in your planning you could start from the bottom of where on earth you plan to build the new roof and when you run into the existing roof you lift up the tiles and sort of nudge the neew roofing underneath and hoist up the secon row of old tiles and throw some nail down.... hard to explain but this is as close as i can capture it for you,
