I bought a new house and the previous owner have a dog who's nails destroyed the top wax on the wood floors... How do I catch rid of those? The floors are less afterwards 1 year old so I don't want to replace them..... Help!
Answers: It depends on the type of floor... If it's a modern pre-finished floor, the surface is probably destabilized - most can be re-finished, but that typically involves re-finishing the entire floor. The other option if the nouns is small is to replace the damaged pieces. Take a circular saw and cut down the middle of on of the shabby strips and remove it, then remove the ones subsequent to it until all destabilized ones are removed. Then replace with hot strips. To place the last strip, you will enjoy to remove the bottom of the groove on the last piece to slide it into place. It will consequently need a couple of tiny finishing nail put in at an angle to hold it forever in place.
