I have model 79075768001. ( something like 5 yrs old) NEver used the self cleaning. I believe I needed to press the "clear" feature to lock but it doesnt come across to work
Answers: if you press clear it will not lock, press self clean and it will lock automatically, when the cleaning is done it will cool down until that time the door can open again for safekeeping reasons.
