I'm looking for a way to repair a 1" rip contained by a terry robe that won't be noticeable. It is at the seam that converge in the armpit but have frayed a bit. It's too far ripped to re-sew it into the seams. And no, throwing it out is not an remedy!
Answers: If it is too ripped to resew into the seam you will need to attach another piece of cloth to it and cover the hole with several rows or snaking stitches to hold the added piece and to cover the hole. What you are actually doing is patching the hole near another piece of cloth....an old washcloth would work fine. Put plenty stitches in nearby to hold it well.
you throw it away
