I have a computer stool that goes up and down beside one of those gas strutty things, but i want to dismantle it to store it for a while. The instructions say 'no can do'. Any planning out there pleez. Thanks Ann.

Answers:    The best path is to unscrew/unbolt the seat from the yoke underneath. There are usually purely 4 machine screw. Be sure to note which opening faces front, if it's not stamped on the frame.

Some chairs allow you to disassemble the fund from the seat and arms. (this is how they are shipped to shrink bulk). Look for screw covers or release levers

You do not want to remove the gas cylinder as they are friction fit and across the world you will ruin the cylinder getting it out.

I think you risk losing the gas if you dismantle it. Not sure if these things can be re-gassed any....
