My mom gave us her 10' x 30" easy set above ground pool w/pump. It's be a long time since i've used it and there are no directions. It holds over 900 gallons of water. Can anyone inform me if I need to prime the pump before using it (and how), how much chlorine to use and how commonly?
Answers: If it's green you may have to shock it with a chemical solution from walmart or a pool chemical supply house. Ask the guys at the chemical supply place for support or a pamphlet Also pick up a PH test kit and revise to use it. Acidity or alkalinity is critical to pool health. if the pump is below the water horizontal you probably won't have to prime it. water and electricity don't mix so take heed.Otherwise dump some water down the outlet or intake tube whichever is easier. A full pump is a happy pump. Stay away from the electricity ! hose down and electricity don't mix !!
I set one of those pools up 2yrs ago. To me it seemed like alot of work for a moment or two pool, that's why this year I went all out and get a 24' x 52" real pool. First off you really requirement to have that thing height! I MEAN LEVEL! Mine came with a dvd tutorial and again..they say aloud LEVEL! so... we had to dig. The initiation of this year IM in a new home and I tried to set it up on the most even part of my property and it still filled up oval instead of round..no honourable. Do NOT use sand under it because again... they stress DO NOT USE SAND! As far as priming the filter, I would think as long as your dampen covers your intake and outlet holes you should just be able to flip it on. Of course making sure you spray out your videotape maybe once a week or depending on how much junk get in the water (off of foot, tree's, bug's etc) I only had to filter mine approx. 3hrs a morning. As far as chlorine goes I had to a short time ago do the process until I got it right, I used the strip testers to do the testing and I could never capture it just right but good satisfactory. I also used the chlorine granulars and added that to a bucket of water (but now IM told do not do that!!) I'd wander around the pool and pour it in then filter it.. it did work for me but again I found out you should not do it that bearing. Someone said to use the tablets. My pool always stayed sparkling clean and I would save maybe a quarter of a 3" chlorine tablet in a floating device to hold on to the chlorine stable, but would remove it when anyone got in the pool. I bought one of the small pressure vaccum's next to the net bag to verbs it and it was a great little pool. But again, with adjectives that work Im going to try my hand with a big pool. Hope this help you and good luck.. enjoy! =) There should be directions next to the pool. If not they do have a website with their phone number. Just look up the graceful set pools website and they should have information on there or a number where on earth you can contact the company.
