Answers:    You can check the low voltage coil near an ohm meter, if there's continuity the coil is good. You can look at the glorious voltage contacts to see the amount of wear on them due to normal arcing of day by day usage also observing whether they are severly pitted and not the same. You can also apply 24V's to the low voltage terminals to bring in sure the solenoid is pulling the plunger down.
