How do I stop the chirping smoke detector? I have a Lifesaver 1275 smoke detector. 2 years old-MAX....

I have a Lifesaver 1275 smoke detector. 2 years old-MAX. They are hardwired next to batteries as resourcefully. I replaced the battery and it is still chirping? What should I do. I tried to hold down the hush button. I tried to hold down the experiment button--nothing! I just took the detector down for the time mortal. This is the 2nd time in the end week-I have two detectors down at this time. I be planning on calling the F.D. to come check it out...any suggestions?
Answers:    Double check that the battery is snapped firmly into position. Dirt or dust on the alarm cover can wreak chirping also. You can clean the cover by sympathetically brushing a vacuum over it. there could be a anomaly in the detector and it should be replaced.
Im not femilure next to your model but from waht I know about the detectors a churping could be from a vague battery or incomplete circut comming from the mobile. Check for corrosion and if 9 volt battery check for a broken rope on the battery connector these small wires can be pulled apart really easly and are even tough to see under the plastic cover over them over the battery. This is my suspission that you own a broken wire from the freestyle. To reset the detector try turning off the power to the hardwire. Also this might administer you a sign that the battery circut is intacked or not. If the battery-operated is still plugged in and you own no line power the freestyle is the only entity left to allow a tootle and if it stops when the breaker is off the freestyle isnt supplying power and this is indeed where the problem lies.
