I have going on for 6 oak trees. The weird entry is, only one seem to produce a large number of acorns. The others do produce some, but one within particular seem to be dropping thousands on my lawn, and my driveway. How do I return with this one tree to stop acorn production? If that's not possible, what's the best means of access to clean up the acorns from my grassland? (Squirrels aren't helping, I have several squirrel nests within my trees lol)

Answers:    There is one other option. I enjoy a park model on a permanent camp site in Minnesota. I am surrounded by oaks, and have the same problem. It is impossible to bring back permission to cut the trees down, and I wouldn't want to lose the shade anyway.

I bought a Billy Goat pasture vacuum used for $450. It is a walk bringing up the rear unit next to a large daypack on back. It vacuums up the leaves and acorns pretty okay, and prepares them for the compost pile.

Expensive, yes. But it does work.
