This glider rocking chair is only 6 years infirm and it creaks so badly! We have tried replacing adjectives the bolts, soaking the wood in water, silicone, grease and nothing seems to be working. It is really, really creeky and it seem to me it's because the wood is just so dried out.
Answers: The creaking is a result of one piece of wood rubbing past another. The creaking is coming from a combined.
Think of a squeaking floor -- the edge of one board moves against another and squeaks. Eliminate the movement and the squeak stops.
Is this a unit you assembled yourself? If so, you probably weren't instructed and probably didn't cement the joints. You have potential tried so many solutions that over time the joints are loose. I would paste all fixed, non-moving joints next to a polyurethane glue, such as Gorilla Glue. Polyurethane glue is moisture activate and expands as it foams, so clamping is necessary. Here is a link that shows how to use it:

Also, use neoprene washers at any moving joint to eliminate wood contacting wood.
You didn't say where on earth the creaking was coming from, but I can think of 2 possibilities..first, net sure that all of your fasteners are tight.if nearby are any loose ones, the creak could be coming from there. If it's not that, put nylon bushings (you should be able to attain those from your local home center or hardware store) around the bolts that the glider "glides" on. You may need to enlarge the hole slightly so the bushings will fit. The best course I've found to get rid of a creek in a rocking stool. Give it to the Sally Anne!
