Answers:    1000 bucks? the guy is a con artist any plumbing company should do that for 150 to 200 bucks but if you want to do it yourself here is what you do. cut the pipe after the p trap and transport the old spend foolishly and overflow completely out. get a clean waste and overflow gear and a p trap and an 11/2 tee and a coupling and a short peice of 11/2 pipe I don`t know 2 ft long. put the bottom drain fitting together first. you may need a tub tool for this but they are lower than 20 bucks. next put the overflow peices together on the tub but do not tighten totally much so it will be easy to attain the pipe together. next hold the nouns where it go and cut your 2 sections of pipe to length cement it all together and next tighten it all up. install your topical ptrap and tie it in to the existing drain next to a coupling. also make sure you put plumbers putty below the chrome peice on the bottom drain or it will leak. hope this help you
