How do i insulate it, do i only call for to insulate the garage door or every wall? do i need to put the insulation sheets or boards inside or outside? its a 380 sq foot detached garage, can i insulate with aluminum foil?? how do i do it and what parts of the garage do i involve to focus on? also if i dont insulate it how many BTU's AC would i have need of?

Answers:    First, why would you want to insulate and cool down your garage, do you plan to put the car outside, and live inside the garage?

A detached garage would be tremendously expensive to insulate, heat and cool, within proportion to the amount of space you gain, only one immense room.

if u want to keep the garage cool contained by summer and warmer contained by winter then u inevitability to insulate..u need to insulate the ceiling and adjectives the walls on the inside of the building.depending on the wall thickness of the inside...if the walls are made of 2x4's the u necessitate an R-12 insulation in the walls...the pink fiberglass type insulation..they are made to fit 2 pieces into the wall cavity
