Answers:    As Sam Said, Black and Red wires are
"phase` or "hot` wires and go the the brass
screw on your new receptacle.
The uncovered wire go to the green 'ground` screw.
If you've got a white, (silver), screw, you've get the wrong receptacle for the wiring you've get.
