Okay, this morning my husband had the bright idea to replace our faucet pedal because it was leaking sea. He did so without first cutting past its sell-by date the water supply to the bathtub. It is earth-shattering that I mention that he has absolutely NO DIY skills and never referred to any booklet. Water was spewing like a geyser everywhere after he took the manipulate off. Eventually we found the water supply and cut the dampen off and replaced the bathtub bar. But now when we cut the water supply subsidise on, the water won't turn off within the bathtub. Can anyone give me tips on what they regard as I should do?
Answers: Tell your husband next time to utilize any DIY savvy friends he may have, it may cost him a beer or 2 but worth.
Go to home depot and buy hose down valve grommet replacement kit, while your here ask the plumbing clerk if they can show how and what kit you need for you type of faucet, bring the internal tap if needed. The kit should come with varied sizes. Go home and turn off the main tap again. Dissemble the valve and pull it out. If you look at the inside extremity of the valve there should be a rubber piece held by a screw. This is the rubber grommet that requests to be replace. Find one in the kit that fits and replace it. Reassemble the spout and try turning the water on.
Let me see if I'm reading your last statement correctly... Your clich¨¦ everytime you turn the main water spigot "on" that water comes out from all the faucets contained by your house and they will not turn off?? Both Hot and Cold?? I've never heard of this arranged, I must be misunderstanding your question. I'm saving your message, this sounds interesting. Looking forward to your reply, Are you sure your hubby isn't working on the hose down valves in the middle of darkness.
If your faucet has separate hot and cold water handle that come to a spongy stop. It's a compression faucet, also called a stem or washer faucet.. with that sort of mentality, put in the picture your husband to keep away from any and all repairs.
