My fiance and I are moving into her parents rental house and the people who live in it right presently smoke. I know when they move out, it will smell and I would like to get it adjectives gone before we move in. They are moving out surrounded by August and we are moving in in October. I enjoy a carpet cleaner that we will use but will we need to paint, and pinch the pop corn ceiling off to get adjectives of the smell out? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Answers: I have severely good luck with ozonators. They flood the house with ozone(O^3) which neutralizes adjectives odors and mildew. Ozone has a half vivacity of like ten minutes so it's completely safe contained by a couple hours. I'd be curious to see how well it would do with pocorn ceiling. If it works with pocorn you'd have to spray paint it, I'm sure it's yellow/grey near smoke. Many hotels use ozonators for tenants that smoke in non smoking rooms.
Yes that is to say the best thing to do. You really should remove the popcorn ceiling, it holds much more than you believe. I was contained by the same situation about a year ago. When I removed the popcorn, the flooring and painted...you would never enjoy known that anyone had smoked within there! Good luck with your remodel! The below association has some good info.
