It is way too hot. I turned the breaker bad, opened the panel toward the bottom of the container. I don't see a "dial." I see a plastic thing that can be turned next to a coin or something, but I can't figure out which direction or how much to turn it. According to the labeling, it is set at 140. The marine that comes out the tap is scalding! What is a honest setting and how do I change it correctly? I own asked my husband probably 20 times to do it, but he hasn't (He probably doesn't know how even though he is great at fixing things.) I need to do it myself because if I burn my paw one more time...
Answers: There're plenty of sites online that describe this and can also provide illustration of what to look for. Both the top and bottom access plates have thermostats bringing up the rear them - turn the breaker off and undo both plates and turn both adjustments to a lower setting - the top one may be set considerably better than the bottom, and since the water you use is drawn from the top of the container, that would explain why the water you receive is so hot.
As for the plastic thing that doesn't look resembling a dial - that's the thing you involve to turn, and you'll need to turn it toward the not here - counterclockwise.
Before you finish with the hose heater, be persuaded that the temperature sensors are firmly contained by there brackets. If they are not seated correctly they will not sense the heat of the tank.
