Help! My bathtub drain is clogged. I believe it is because of hair. (i bought a touch wire mesh thing but i guess too late) So when i try to plunge it marine comes out of the overflow. How do I plug that part up?
if your drain has the lever stopper ,remove the screws contained by the vent cover and slowly pull out the stopper,a good matter of hair and gunk will probably come out with it ,while it's out run the river if the water goes brisk enough ,clean stale the stopper and replace.if it's still stopped,get a small wooden dowel rod or even a pencil and rough the end up beside a knife,place it deep within the drain and slowly turn it trying to wrap hair around it. slowly pull it out turning adjectives the time,you should be able to get most out that means of access,replace the stopper in it's place.tom There is an inexpensive device called a ZIP STICK.It is a long skinny plastic stick near a bunch of little hooks on the sides.Slide it down drain and slowly slide it out .It should grab any hair or gunk close.If this doesn't work remove overflow plate and stuff pipe beside wet rag.Get a devout plunger(preferably an older style black rubber one) , with the drizzling rag stuffed into overflow ,run some hot water until nearly an inch is standing.Push down on plunger and pull up hard and swiftly.Plungers are designed to pull not push.You will get more force by pulling.This should loosen clog,if it doesn't next an electric eel needs ran down row.There are cheap eels that don't work very well.I work for Roto-Rooter and own not seen any good eels at rental stores.Call around ,you may be capable of find a pro that can open it up cheap.Be careful beside drain cleaners.Do not pour into standing water .Do not mix drain cleaners or mix other chemicals with drain cleaners.Good Luck!
Get a small plumbing snake, by small I be a sign of 6 feet or less. It's a springy rod beside coils of wire around it, and at the business end is a spring that can snag tresses blobs. Remove the trap, begin twisting it in the drain as far as you can budge, all the way if you can.
Kinda gross to use, but is the singular sure cure for a hair clog. You twist it within the direction of the spring on the end of the snake so it goes around the bends of the pipe and snags spike blobs. When you pull it back out, nearby they are.
Chemicals are not only a waste of time, when they sit for a while - as within, Drano or other lye-based chemicals, stuck behind a big blob of hair - they slowly drink away at the pipes, even plastics. Eventually they eat through the pipe, this is NOT GOOD with a tub. The minimal replacement means a trip under the house or if it's an apartment or two-story, removal of the tub. No fun at adjectives!
effortless fix--------- take out the screws that hold your over flow hole. verbs it out but remember your stopper is on the other end . the hair is around your stopper filch a coat hanger and un twist it then stick it down the drain and it will verbs up the hair
You may freshly have hair within the drain right at the mouth, get some needle antenna pliers and go fishing!! If that doesnt work...remove the overflow plate, wet a handkerchief and cover the overflow drain as you plunge the drain at the bottom of the tub (a plunger wont work unless you cover the overflow to create pressure) Use a sink plunger and not a toilet plunger. May take some time depending how bad the clog is. Goodluck Get any Drano or PLUMR from your local wal-mart. Get the foaming snake one or the gel one and pour the whole bottle in. Let it soak through for an hour or so and next run the water to rinse it down. Hope this helps!
Answers: If you got a supporter use a wet rag to block the bottom of the overflow as that's where on earth the holes are. Cover the drain with water and plunge. Try to push and verbs the water with the suction of the plunger to work the clog loose.
u can get drano.and pour it adjectives in...this wrks,very economically!
