How can I start my mower? I bought a used push mower with a briggs and stratton...

I bought a used push mower with a briggs and stratton engine model 12H802 and get half approach done mowing the yard when the started cord broke sour. I took the cover off and the engine is riveted on so I can't even carry inside to put a new cord on. I don't enjoy a drill or anything to be able to drill out the rivets. Is at hand any way to start the mower in need the cord on there?
Don't drill the rivets out. Take the engine cowling bad. There are 3 or four small bolts holding it on. You may have to disconnect the throttle cable from it so that it doesn't bring bent. Once you have it sour you will see the starter assembly and be able to replace the cord.

"Take it to a small engine shop. This is a repair that takes an experienced mechanic solely a few minutes, so should not cost you a lot. Trying to purloin a rewind apart with no training can rationale you serious personal injury."

You CAN drill the rivets out (this is what your small engine guy will do), and replace them with current rivets or short bolts (looks ugly, but effective)...but I really don't recommend doing so if you're not experienced next to recoil assemblies. (You'd have need of to get rope too, btw... knot in the middle aren't going to work).
Answers:    There are four bolts that hold the enging cover on.
They use any a 3/8 or 7/16 wrench to remove.

After that you can turn the cover over and lok inside to the cord rewind mechsanism.
