The hall flimsy in my unknown house is connected to three different switches (let's call them A, B, and C). The frothy will only turn on if adjectives switches are down, or if A is down and B and C are up. Why was it wired this course?! I would like to re-wire the switches so that I could use respectively switch to turn the light on and rotten. Any advice? Thanks!
Answers: The switches own been wired incorrectly. Simple as that. A voltmeter or voltage detector is required to do this in need a lot of trial and error. You will enjoy two 3 way switches, and a 4 path switch. The 3 way switches will hold three wires and the 4 way switch will hold 4 wires. Look at the diagram on this site and wire your switches alike. Power comes in to the adjectives of the first three way switch. Two runner wires afterwards go to the top of the four method switch. Two runner wires then stir from the bottom of that switch to the other three way switch like as the first switch. A wire go from the common on that second three track switch to the light.

You involve a 3-way switch at each finishing and a 4-way switch in the middle also you obligation romax with 3 wires plus ground check out an electrical electrical system book from the library or go look at one at Lowes or HD to see how they are wired If it is a trial house get the electrician put a bet on to fix it If you have the proper switches sometimes two - two flex romax cab;es are run and one of the wires are disregarded to give you the three wires
