I have an In-Sink-Erator(R) Disposer 1/3 HP that I purchased from Lowes and installed it into my sink. It worked for roughly 2 months and all of a sudden it died. When I turn on and bad the power switch I can tell it's acceptance a charge but it isn't turning.help!!
3 ways---
1. With the switch in the bad position, take a broom toy with and try spin the tine's. Then hit the reset button on the disposal itself.. (usually a red button) Flip the switch.
2. Hit the reset button
3. check the GFI breaker
If none of these help, your disposal is shot.
It's called an installation/user's brochure.
People take electric appliances for granted. Anything that you plug into the wall have the potential to kill you (or more possible burn down your house).
All of the above suggestions, along with the instructions, are within the user's manual.
I hold a drawer in the kitchen beside the manuals for every appliance I own. In addition to instructions, they hold parts lists, model numbers and support numbers.
Answers: two things.you should own recieved a small allen wrench looking device with your purchase...if so you place it contained by the receptacle at the bottom of the disposer and give it a few turns...later hit the re set button on the body ..this should work..if not try a few more turns next to the wrench.otherwise i don't know.
