what could cause rust? i other clean it. Could it be because I live close to the shore? What can i do to prevent it?

Answers:    To remove the rust present (providing it is a surface rust and not embedded), use 0000 steel wool with gun grease, scrubbing insubstantially. Once you have it verbs, wipe the metal down with any biddable gun oil. Do not use commercial oil like WD40. It is not designed as a rust preventive,,,a short time ago as a lubricant. Whether I fire them or not, I wipe down all my artillery every 6 months with gun grease (I personally use Hoppe's). Every time you fire a weapon, verbs it and oil it. You will never hold rust blooms coming back. I hope that help you.

after cleaning it well, grease it down
