There's a sliding bolt padlock on the bars on my bedroom window in my untried apartment. The super has no switch to the lock as it's been in that since before he moved contained by. How can I get this piece off? There's no route to get bolt cutters on it. I'm assuming I could eventually saw it bad with a hacksaw, but that would pocket a long time. Any advice for a method to cut through a fairly gelatinous (one third of an inch) hardened steel padlock?
Answers: Try using a dremel with a metal adjectives wheel attached. Ever since I get my first dremel, I'm amazed at all the different tasks I've be able to accomplish. For such a small tool, it rates extremely soaring on my tool list!

I would have recommended bolt cutters. You could ask at a hardware store for a diamond tip or tungsten blade hacksaw. A locksmith? Hope this help.
