I already use CFL bulbs instead of incandescent, and switch stuff off at the wall instead of disappearing it on standby, but the savings are minimal, and i spent plentifully more on the bulbs than i have save so far.
also, does anyone know what 'grren plugs' are? i heard they cut power consumption for things vanished plugged in an on standby
Answers: The bulbs will eventually settle up for themselves.
Other good power saver are:
Bumping the thermostat up a bit in the Summer and down within the Winter.
Lowering the temperature on your hot wet heater.
I have huge energy consumption surrounded by the winter. Do you live in a cold climate? We found out that our furnace is using a great deal of electricity. Also our electric dryer. We could save if we installed a unmarked furnace so I am saving for a unknown one. Also our washer and dryer our old and not dash efficient. All expensive to replace. Our electric company come out free to do an energy audit. That might abet. Kim
