I am currently doing a city & guilds course on major property problems. i own sailed through the question up until now. i enjoy a question and i am not sure on so i thought i would ask you lot.
Here go:
Explain how houses may be constructed without individual unusual lintels in the external brickwork.????????
at first i thought this may be a trick cross-question as any load deportment wall in a house would obligation to be in the ext. brickwork.
please support.
Answers: I'm assuming that your talking something like lintels over doors and windows. You can lower the ceiling point, or raise the porthole height to the ceiling.
Cheap houses around here hold 7ft ceilings beside just the header around the outside walls and the window go right up to the ceiling.
Hope this help
Do arches count as lintels? If not, the prior responder's header works for me.
