Answers:    New tanks are honourable for 12 years from date of manufacture[in US].After that they can be re-certified.There are 3 ways to get a cistern re certified,two of which are not cost effective for a 20 pound reservoir.So they normally find a visual records,which means that a trained technician will inspect the reservoir for damage,check that the valve are correct and working properly and there are no leak.After this it will be marked near a new date followed by the message E [E indicates a visual inspection] the container is now worthy for 5 years from the new date.It can be reinspected heaps times as long as it is in righteous shape.
